Dutch Girl Peonies is situated on a sunny mountain top in the picturesque Kootenays of southern British Columbia, Canada. We are a long time family farm of 300+ acres.

As well as growing and selling 50+ varieties of peonies and perennials we operate a Woodlot, and are currently expanding into fresh cut flowers for weddings and retail sales as well as willow growing and nut tree farming.

Latest News: BC/Yukon Region Peony Show 2016

The Castlegar peony show is an amateur, entry level show, in which everyone is invited to participate. Your one or two cut flower entries add to the show. In 2015, our first show, we had almost 300 entries, but over 100 were from Calgary and Regina. In 2016, and next year, the 150th anniversary of Canada, we want West Kootenay Peonies to win all the ribbons! Will you try your luck by entering?

HOW TO ENTER:

Hours to enter: Friday, June 10th, 3-7 pm,
Castlegar Recreation Centre, 2101 6th Ave Please arrive early with your cut peonies or flower arrangements. Our volunteers will assist you to fill out a tag for each entry. (You may wish to bring address labels instead of writing your name out several times). Each entry is assigned a class number where it will be judged against its peers. We appreciate the cultivar name, if available but have a special section for “no-name brand” Garden Beauties.

JUDGING:

The judges take a couple hours to judge the show. At 12 noon, there will be a ribbon cutting and the show opens. At that time we see who has won ribbons. With about 60 classes and four ribbons per class, there are lots of opportunities to be a winner. Every peony is beautiful and has an opportunity to win.
