Dutch Girl Peonies is situated on a sunny mountain top in the picturesque Kootenays of southern British Columbia, Canada. We are a long time family farm of 300+ acres.

As well as growing and selling 50+ varieties of peonies and perennials we operate a Woodlot, and are currently expanding into fresh cut flowers for weddings and retail sales as well as willow growing and nut tree farming.

We follow a Federal/Provincial environmental friendly farm program and aim to use organic whenever possible.

Did you know that peonies:
  • are long lived - over 50 years
  • are very hardy - most to Zone 3
  • are drought tolerant
  • are low maintenance
  • are deer-resistant
  • have been cultivated for more than 2000 years as medicinal and ornamental plants
  • depending on your selection of cultivars the peony bloom season can last 6 - 8 weeks
  • peony flowers come in a range of colours including yellow, coral, peach and lavender, in addition to white, blush, pink, magenta and red
  • flower in spring, have lush foliage all summer, and the colourful seed heads provide lasting interest
  • blooms may be single, semi-double, double, anemone or Japanese in form
  • most peonies have a scent: classified as rose, lemon, honey or musk
